A Mockumentary/
Get ready for the most crazy feature film of the year. From no other than Euforia film: Kurt Josef Wagle og legenden om fjordheksa (I will not even try to translate the film title). A mockumentary is a film genre in which fictitious events are presented in a non-fiction documentary format, mocking and making fun of current events. And do director Tommy Wirkola and the producing team Kjetil Omberg and Terje Strømstad know how to mock everything and everybody?! What a bunch of twisted minds and souls, characters and caricatures. You will get it all – everything that can be labelled ”political incorrect”. Stereotypes of homosexuals, clairvoyants, fishermen, policemen and teachers. Chauvinism, racism and stupidity on every level. Producer Terje Strømstad thinks the film will be most successful with a local audience from the North of Norway. It’s an humour and a form that perhaps is more recognisable for the Northerners. However, there is no doubt in my mind that a whole lot of people will embrace this circus of a film. Experiencing Kristoffer Joner with a curly wig as the sympathetic paedophile teacher, is by far good enough reason to check out the film. Hocus Focus with Haavard Albertsen has graded the film, the main task being to keep the rough documentary look. Mathias Theissen and Bengt Ove Sannes have both done some graphical work online, while Ole-Arild Svendsen has post-produced it all. The film is shot on the RED format and will be released at cinemas on both 35 mm and digital copies. The Norwegian theatrical release is the 4th of March 2010.
